An inclusive and fully accessible community Arts Co-operative
AHA! provides all artists with the opportunity to pursue their artistic aspirations. Art is a vital element in tolerance and inclusion. To that end, 51 percent of the membership is made up of artists with special needs.
At AHA we believe that the creative process needs to be fostered independently of any therapy/rehabilitation goals. Creativity buoys the spirit and inspires those around us.
We try not to focus on what someone’s disability might be, if they have one or not, it’s more about the creativity.
This is what people do . . . They’re creative regardless of their challenges
Steve Quattrocchi, Manager, AHA
AHA has been exhibiting around the Lower Mainland for the last ten years including shows at the Burnaby Library, ‘The Art of Sport’ at the Burnaby Art Gallery in 2008 and “The Spirit of Art” at the Burnaby Arts Council Gallery in February 2011.
Recently we had a very successful art show at the Shadbolt Center for the Arts in Burnaby and our art was featured in several libraries across Burnaby for the UN International Day of Disability.
